This "home school" will allow you to immerse in mindfulness completely for 5 days - daily movement (yoga & even mindful martial arts movement) & body alignment, breathing practices, eating & nutrition choices, meditation, communication, self self-awareness & self-care, conscious living "philosophies" and more.

Location: The Breathing Room Yoga Studio & Cafe, Red Deer

Phone: 403-358-3542, Email: info@breathingroomreddeer.com

Here's what people said about the intensive last year:

I did not want the week to end!  I could have spent another week delving a little deeper into all the information that was presented

Suzanne was awesome and so knowledgeable.  She is a wonderful instructor and I am so glad I was able to spend the week learning from her!.

I would tell anyone who is just starting with yoga to take this class because I learned so much “stuff” about the history of yoga which to me was fascinating.  It was a good basis to the foundation of yoga and has made me just want to learn more and more, so I would highly recommend this class.

There is so much more to learn about yoga! I feel much more connected to my practice now than I ever have.

I really enjoyed having Suzanne come into the yoga classes we were practicing and offer alignment suggestions or variations. It was extremely beneficial because she had taken time to know areas that each of us were struggling with and where we wanted to improve.

[This retreat was] a great way to dive deeper into your practice and learn more about yourself!

Suzanne was instrumental ... She possesses incredible knowledge, leadership skills, and life experience and combines all this with enthusiasm, warmth, sensitivity and a genuine love for what she does.  This all contributed to creating an incredible space for learning, growing, sharing and feeling the “joy” the benefits of YOGA can yield.

The instruction around “The Breath” was so very important and vital in being able to practice and reap the benefits of yoga.  Also, I feel the kinesiology and body alignment were foundational. I was amazed to feel the incredible strength and increased balance my body had when I had the awareness to properly align it.  This would not have been possible without Suzanne’s adjustments and teachings allowing for the correct posture to be physically experienced, than allowing that muscle memory to form.  It was an “incredible gift” to move forward with in my yoga practice.

I would say to others that a yoga staycation is a wonderful experience to assist in obtaining maximum health for participants, thus leading to a greater outcome for one’s self, one’s family, and one’s community.  I feel obtaining the knowledge of self care provided in a regular practice of yoga can empower a person to possibly maintain health with less need for other practitioners, which can also be a financial bonus, not only for oneself but for the Health Care System.
