Suzanne Blackwell is a Yoga Alliance ERYT-500, a 500-hr Yoga Therapist, and is also a registered 500-hr teacher with the YAA (Yoga Association of Alberta). Recently, she also became a BYT (Budokon Yoga Teacher). She has been training/teaching yoga for 10+ years and is the Director of Teacher Training for the YA RYT-200 hr Yoga Teacher Certification program at The Breathing Room in Red Deer, Alberta, Canada. She also teaches certification courses for Mind-Body Instructors with the AFLCA (Alberta Fitness Leadership Certification Association). 

 

Suzanne has an extensive sports, coaching, fitness, and martial arts background. She is an active 3rd degree black belt in karate and jujitsu with 20+ years of practice. She is also a former elite mountain bike athlete and cycling and X-C ski coach. She is a lover of nature (all things outdoors) and of this beautiful planet we live on!

 

Suzanne has been teaching meditation and movement-based lifestyle enhancing activities full-time since 2007 at local studios, recreation centres, public and alternative schools, and seniors facilities. Yoga styles taught include Hatha, Restorative, Flow, Power/Ashtanga, and specialized classes. In addition to yoga, Suzanne also teaches other fitness and martial arts classes in her local area. She often teaches unique and varied workshops and offers private coaching, instruction and yoga therapy sessions for individuals. She is also an instructor in the Kinesiology Department at Red Deer College.
